REPORTS FROM THE LOCALS:

Local 698, Sacramento, Ca.  At the meeting of September 8 a motion to send organizers into the various police academies was tabled after a discussion of the pros, cons, feasability of such action.  Most of the debate concerned the effect on the retirement fund of work involved in arson investigation, particularly possible brain damage from accelerant sniffing.---------------

Local 867, Waterloo, Iowa.    A motion to contribute $300 to the Hidebound campaign fund was voted down.  It was noted that a local pet food company would supply ample free tidbits at the upcoming Hidebound rally at Cedar Rapids, so the money could be saved for the scholarship fund instead.

Local 703, Charlotte, North Carolina.  A collection was taken up for the flood relief fund broadcast and a message of sympathy and support will be sent out on Exsenso net to the brothers and sisters who were displaced.
